Time Capsules

E2

Do you know what a time capsule is?

It is a container filled with objects that people think are typical of contemporary culture. The capsule is buried so that people can discover it in the distant future.

A group of my students is thinking which objects describe their time.

I’d like other students to share their ideas. What objects would you include in a time capsule?

To get some inspiration you can visit an on line exhibition of Andy Warhol’s Time Capsule 21, one of the over 600 cardboard boxes he filled with objects from his daily life.

If you hate pop art, you can tour The New York Times Capsule, an exhibition at the American Museum of Natural History that explored different concepts of time and the history of time capsules.

Thanks Martin for answering my question.
I love that idea of photos of places that can be different in the future. I'm trying to picture which ones...
